WHO WE ARE
A single source street works consultancy

Our business is based on over 40 years of experience from all sides of the highways and street works industry.
We are probably unique in our staff having worked for highway authorities, utilities, consultants, contractors and software developers so we are often able to provide a fully rounded viewpoint that others would be unable to.
We have worked on highways schemes from the smallest to the largest, including some of the biggest infrastructure projects currently taking place in the UK. One thing that has become clear to us is that while many of the clients we work with are leaders in their own field, street works and highways legislation is a closed door to them. If the words New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), Traffic Management Act (TMA), Permit Schemes and Highways Act licensing mean nothing to you then you are in the right place.
Our main line of business is providing a service to projects small or large to manage all TMA notification and highways licensing requirements. There are several scenarios where this can be a benefit.
Small organisations – typically if your requirement is for <2000 permits per year, our services would prove more economical than procuring a street works system (or using DfT Street Manager) and then building and maintaining a street works team with the appropriate balance of skills.
Time limited projects – our services are ideal for large infrastructure projects. Although large undertakings, they have a limited requirement for street works, TMA knowledge and limited project duration.
Standalone projects – we are often embedded in the project team, providing all permit requirements and traffic management drawings. We work with project managers, planners, permits team and construction management and provide mutual support in a fast moving environment, managing change, both planned and unplanned.

Our own in-house developed permits system which is fully integrated with DfT Street Manager and EToN systems still in use in Wales
We have our own in-house developed permits system which is fully integrated with DfT Street Manager. This allows us to build on the capabilities of Street Manager to provide push notifications by email or SMS as soon as an update is made to the works. For example, when a permit is granted, an automated email is sent to the client project manager with a PDF copy of the permit. If an FPN, failed (higher risk) inspection or overrun warning is received an SMS message can also be sent to supplement the email.
Internally, our permits system is designed from the ground up to manage multiple projects in a task driven way so rather than having to search through multiple lists, or logging in and out to view different clients or projects, each user is presented with a list of outstanding tasks, most current first and that can be filtered by client or project.
Traffic Management Design
Provide a fast turnaround for all of your TM drawing requirements by our LANTRA accredited TM designer.
In addition, our LANTRA accredited Traffic Management designer is able to provide a fast turnaround for all of your TM drawing requirements taking into account the red book (Safety at Streetworks) and TfL’s Temporary Traffic Management Handbook.
We can also provide Vehicle Swept Path drawings which are being requested more frequently by Highway Authorities to prove that the proposed traffic management can be navigated by larger vehicles. Have a look at our Case Studies to see the range of services we provide.
Highways Licences
Submit and negotiate highways licences including section 50, section 171, scaffold, materials storage etc with Local Authorities
The Highways Act 1980 allows for licensing of many activities - skips, scaffolds, tables & chairs, advertising boards, cranes, scaffold, materials storage and more
Each highway authority seems to have a different procedure, different requirements and different costs for highways licences. Our licensing team have dealt with many licence types and many highway authorities across the UK and are experts in negotiating the often slow and frustrating procedures for obtaining a highways licence.
